Tributes have been paid to Mohammed Barkindo, who passed away aged 63
Politicians, institutions and industry figures have all paid tribute to the late Opec secretary general Mohammed Barkindo, who died suddenly in Abuja, Nigeria in early July. “His passing is a profound loss to the entire Opec family, the oil industry and the international community,” Opec said of its “much-loved leader of the secretariat”. Barkindo delivered a keynote address in the Nigerian capital shortly before his death.
