No mention of the potential UKCS development in Scottish leader’s address to her party
Nicola Sturgeon, leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) and first minister of Scotland, made no explicit calls for the end for licensing more developments on the UK continental shelf (UKCS) in an end-of-November party conference speech, suggesting she has limited appetite to join a concerted campaign to halt field approvals. The Scottish leader was, admittedly, careful to drop hints around opposition to future oil and gas projects, talking of “accelerating our move away from fossil fuels” and “the ability to harness our vast resources in line with our own priorities and values”.
