IOG rebrands project Saturn Banks
The UK independent has a new name for its UKCS complex as it gears up for first gas in Q4
IOG’s infrastructure-led Southern North Sea (SNS) gas field development will now be called the Saturn Banks project and the renovated Thames pipeline the Saturn Banks pipeline system (SBPS), the firm has announced. First gas from the company’s Blythe field should begin to flow through the SBPS before early November. The name pays tribute to a series of seabed sandbank features that characterise the SNS area in which the project is located. Blythe’s production well spudded on 2 August and is on track to be completed in under three months, so first Saturn Banks gas should be expected before 2 November. First gas from the Elgood field, where the well is already completed, is also due in Q4. IOG
