US President Donald Trump’s decisively pro-gas agenda over the past seven months has, unsurprisingly, been welcomed by the industry. Having swiftly ended the Biden administration’s pause on LNG export approvals to non-FTA countries, the administration is also working to cut red tape and streamline permitting, although these changes will take time to come into effect. The recently enacted One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), while having limited direct implications for gas, has bolstered support for CCUS, in which a number of industry players are investing.
