More IOCs jump on board Qatar’s new LNG trains
QatarEnergy has doled out another 12.5pc of NFE equity
ExxonMobil, US superindie ConocoPhillips and Italy’s Eni have joined TotalEnergies in securing stakes in Qatar’s North Field East (NFE) expansion programme. But whether their deals include any material independent offtake rights remains up in the air. ExxonMobil has secured a deal similar to the first agreement announced earlier in June with TotalEnergies, being awarded a 25pc holding in a joint venture (JV) that in turn holds a 25pc share in the four-train, 32mn t/yr project—translating to a 6.25pc stake in NFE as a whole.
