Mozambique LNG still on course—Total
Total's liquefaction project remains on schedule to come onstream in 2024 despite the country’s deteriorating security situation
Total has reaffirmed its commitment to the 13.1mn t/yr Mozambique LNG development, but it also stresses that certain caveats about necessary security requirements remain. The insurgency in the north of the country has not impacted the project's progress, according to CEO Patrick Pouyanne. The development—also known as Rovuma Basin or referred to by its onshore location of Afungi—is still in its planning, logistics and offshore phases of development.
