Eni supplies offset LNG to Taiwan
The shipment is part of a wider trend in East Asia
Taiwanese utility CPC has taken a delivery of carbon-neutral LNG cargo from Italy’s Eni. The shipment was delivered to the Yongan terminal and came from Bontang liquefaction plant in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. That train is supplied by the Jangkrik gas field, in which the Italian firm holds a stake. Eni secured carbon-neutral certification under the PA2060 international standard, including verification from independent standards agency Verra. The carbon rights for the offset come from a conservation project in Zambia and Malawi and cover all emissions from production to end-use.
