SEG looks to expand in Uzbekistan
The Central Asian country has introduced upstream reforms since President Mirziyoyev came to power
Sanoat Energetika Guruhi (SEG), previously known as Jizzakh Petroleum, is the largest oil company in Uzbekistan. The firm produced 276,000t in the first six months of 2022, a 9pc increase year-on-year, and plans further growth. SEG CEO Shokir Faizullaev recently cited the discovery of the Yangi field as part of the company’s “strategy to increase oil production to 1.6mn t/yr by 2030”.
