The Colombia-focused operator forecasts a partial rebound in production this year and is hopeful about exploration offshore Guyana
Calgary-based independent Frontera Energy plans to combine further exploration in Guyana’s prolific offshore this year—after announcing its first oil discovery in the region in January—with drilling activity in Ecuador and growth from its core Colombian acreage. Frontera projects a partial rebound in oil and gas production across its portfolio in 2022. The operator is forecasting an increase of around 10pc over the average of 37,818bl/d oe posted in 2021. But Frontera’s annual output dropped by more than a fifth last year, from 47,800bl/d oe in 2020, amid market volatility and as protests forced a brief shut-in of Colombian production. And the firm projects its annual capex will be anywhere
