Dow restarts construction on its Path2Zero project
The company plans for phase-one startup in late 2029 as it seeks to maximise value from chemicals project following nine-month hiatus
In the face of a global chemicals glut—and shortly before the new Mideast war began—Michigan-based multinational chemicals producer Dow announced it was restarting construction on its $7.5b (C$10.1b) Path2Zero expansion and retrofit project in Fort Saskatchewan, after a nine-month hiatus, during its fourth quarter earnings call on 2 February. Fort Saskatchewan is a small city in Alberta’s Industrial Heartland (AIH), Canada’s only pre-zoned industrial region, in parts of three counties (Lamont, Strathcona and Sturgeon) and a second city (the province’s capital, Edmonton).
