QatarEnergy and Petronas have signed a landmark 20-year sales-and-purchase agreement (SPA) for the supply of LNG to Malaysia. The agreement, announced during a special ceremony in Doha on the sidelines of LNG2026, marks the first long term LNG deal between the two energy powerhouses. Under the terms of the SPA, QatarEnergy will deliver 2mt/yr of LNG to Malaysia beginning in 2028. The deal was formalised by His Excellency Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, with Petronas President and Group CEO Tengku Muhammad Taufik.
