Papua LNG targets 2024 FID
The Pacific nation’s second liquefaction development will overlap significantly with the existing PNG LNG project
TotalEnergies and partners expect to take FID on the 6mt/yr Papua LNG project in early 2024 and start production before the end of the decade. The scheme will be Papua New Guinea’s second LNG development and is closely tied into the existing, ExxonMobil-led 8.3mt/yr PNG LNG facility. "We are progressing towards the [Papua LNG] FID, completing the engineering design of the project with an FID targeted early next year,” said Nicolas Terraz, TotalEnergies’ president for exploration and production.
