Sustainable food producer places $5mn order with Nel
Electrolyser manufacturer to supply multiple PEM systems to company involved in commercialisation of protein technology
Norwegian electrolyser manufacturer Nel has won a $5mn order for multiple proton-exchange-membrane (PEM) electrolysers from an undisclosed ‘sustainable food producer’ involved in the commercialisation of protein technology. The hydrogen will be used as a feedstock in “carbon-negative” food production, Nel says. “This project represents an important opportunity to showcase a green hydrogen solution that supports carbon reduction in the food production industry. We are thrilled to be working with a progressive and visionary leader in this sector,” says Tom Skoczylas, sales manager for Nel’s US subsidiary. Nel is set to deliver on contracts with two more undisclosed customers throughout 2022-23
