Country’s green power exports to rise as government targets 30GW of offshore wind capacity by 2040
Norway aims to boost its exports of green power under an ambitious offshore wind strategy unveiled this week by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store. The government aims to deploy 30GW of offshore wind capacity by 2040, nearly doubling the country’s existing power capacity. A “significant” share of the power generated offshore will be earmarked for export as the Norwegian grid will be unable to manage such large additional volumes.
