RWE signals backing for Noordkaap project with intent to ship carbon dioxide from power plant in Netherlands
UK independent oil and gas producer Neptune Energy and Norwegian gas infrastructure company Capeomega have outlined plans to develop a cross-border CO₂ storage network in northern Europe. The project, called Noordkaap, is based on shipping CO₂ to offshore storage sites in Dutch and Norwegian waters, potentially from 2028. Noordkaap would target industrial clusters where ship transport is the “primary or earliest available” CO₂ export option for emitters seeking storage.
