Morocco is going through not one but several interlocking energy transitions. The country is a regional anomaly for its lack of hydrocarbon resources, but it has abundant sun and wind and has resumed a buildout of renewables capacity delayed last year by the Covid-19 pandemic At the same time, Rabat is rushing to capitalise on its disproportionate endowment of clean energy sources to build a green hydrogen industry, with exports in mind.
