Beach ramps up gas output
The Australian firm is increasing gas production in the Otway basin off the coast of South Australia
ASX-listed Beach Energy has drilled seven new wells as it looks to boost gas output in South Australia’s Otway basin. The new wells comprise two on the Geographe field, four at Thylacine field and a fresh discovery called Artisan. The drilling campaign has “de-risked” the Otway programme, says Beach CEO Morne Engelbrecht. The company is predicting a “step-change” in its production and cashflow from mid-2023, when it plans to connect the four Thylacine wells to the Otway gas plant and raise output to 205TJ/d—the facility's nameplate capacity.
