Equinor promises more Norwegian gas
The supplier hails expanded Troll and Oseberg production permits. But the latter is already far exceeding its quota
Norway’s dominant gas producer, Equinor, said on Monday that it had secured permission to deliver an additional 1bn m³ from both the Troll and Oseberg fields on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) in the next gas year (GY), which starts on 1 October. But it is unclear how the higher official threshold for Oseberg production can be seen as definitively allowing more gas to flow this winter compared with last, given volumes reported by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) for GY20-21 so far.
