Angola: fourth ultra-deep find for BP
BP MADE its fourth discovery in ultra deep-water Block 31 last month and said it is exploring development concepts for the northern part of the block. The Venus-1 well, drilled in 2,000 metres of water, 'encountered three oil-bearing reservoirs', the firm said. Test results were not released. Venus, about mid-way between the Marte and Saturno discoveries, is likely to be the hub for a multi-field development. Marte lies 13-km northwest of Venus and Saturno is 11-km southeast, while the first discovery in the block, Plutão, is 16 km southwest of Venus.
