All eyes on Tanzania
LONDON-Listed Aminex has commenced drilling work on Tanzania's Nyuni Island after a series of delays, the first offshore exploration well in the country for many years. Ndovu Resources, an Aminex subsidiary, hopes to announce initial results from the Nyuni-1 well, which will reach a subsea depth of 3,050 metres, before the end of the year. It will then move on to a second drill site on neighbouring Okuza Island. Other oil firms are watching keenly.
