Developers are pushing to complete the Appalachian pipeline project despite years of delays
The Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP), the only big gas connection still under construction in the US’ Appalachian region, has faced widespread opposition from landowners and environmentalists in the form of regulatory hurdles, legal challenges and acts of civil disobedience, much like midstreamer TC Energy’s ill-fated Keystone XL heavy oil pipeline. These challenges have caused the 2bn ft³/d (56.6mn m³/d) MVP project to be years behind schedule.
