Morocco seeks to pipe gas to Europe
The disused Maghreb-Europe pipeline means the infrastructure is in place, but the production capacity is not
Moroccan state energy company ONHYM is allowing independent companies access to the disused Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline in the absence of the Algerian volumes that used to flow via the route. But Morocco is unlikely to be able to supply significant volumes to Europe any time soon, as the projects being linked to the pipeline remain in their early stages and are relatively modest in terms of production.
