The past decade has not been kind to Canadian oil pipeline projects. Those that have not faced long delays and large cost overruns have been cancelled outright, including the Northern Gateway, which would have terminated on the west coast, Energy East, set to run to the east coast, and Keystone XL, which would have headed to the US Gulf.
