The Australian project is facing renewed industrial action
Shell will start shutting down production at its Prelude floating LNG (FLNG) facility in Western Australia (WA) on Wednesday amid ongoing industrial action. The Offshore Alliance union recently rejected a new contract offer from Shell, citing concerns over job security and pay. The 3.6mn t/yr FLNG project—which can also produce an additional 1.3mn t/yr of condensate and 0.4mn t/yr of LPG—has been plagued by technical issues and industrial action and only came back online in mid-April following an extended outage.
