Indigenous-led Cedar LNG puts emphasis on shared values

The west coast liquefaction plant aims to set a standard for responsible resource development

Cedar LNG is the most advanced Indigenous-led LNG export project in Canada. The development, currently under regulatory review, is on traditional Haisla Nation territory in Kitimat, British Columbia (BC). The estimated C$3bn ($2.3bn) floating liquefaction project plans to produce c.3mn t/yr of LNG for export to the Asia-Pacific region. Cedar LNG benefits from a gas offtake agreement with the Shell-led LNG Canada project, presently under construction on Haisla Nation territory, and its feedgas pipeline, TC Energy’s Coastal Gaslink.
