Dominant Norwegian producer aims to maintain strong deliveries in the third quarter
Norway’s Equinor produced 18pc more gas from the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) in the second quarter compared with the same period last year, and only 4pc less than the first quarter, where high winter demand would normally incentivise substantially greater flows. But, as Nord Stream supply cuts further boost European gas prices, the firm is committing to trying to keep up the pace in the third quarter. “The higher summer production has been an important contribution to help fill European storages,” says Equinor CFO Ulrica Fearn.
