Pampa Energia, Argentina’s largest independent gas and power producer, is enjoying a productive winter season. The company has increased its gas production more than any other producer over the past year, with the bulk of its output from the Vaca Muerta shale play locked into the government’s gas incentive programme at $4.50/mn Btu. And a combination of divestments and power sector capacity additions is helping upgrade the company’s portfolio. Gas production in Q2 reached 259mn ft³/d (7.33mn m³/d), 8pc higher than Q2 2020 and 9pc higher than the previous quarter.
