Orsted eyes potential 3GW project in west Denmark
Danish energy company and developer Skovgaard Energy sign letter of intent to develop project powered by North Sea offshore wind
Danish energy company Orsted has outlined plans to develop a green hydrogen complex in western Denmark with the potential to scale up to 3GW of electrolyser capacity and become a significant exporter to Europe. The project, which could become one of Europe’s largest green hydrogen production sites, would be located at Idomlund near Holstebro, which is expected to be the landfall for parts of the new offshore wind capacity under development in the North Sea. 150MW – Phase one capacity Orsted has signed a letter of intent to pursue the project jointly with Danish renewables developer Skovgaard Energy. “By partnering with Skovgaard Energy on the Idomlund project, Orsted is entering one
