Ineos receives state finance for electrolyser study
Firm plans to build and operate 100MW electrolyser to decarbonise ammonia production at Cologne site
Chemicals firm Ineos has received €770,000 ($803,000) from the government of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia to support a feasibility study for the construction of a 100MW water electrolysis facility. The firm plans to build and operate the facility at its site in Cologne as part of its €2bn package of green hydrogen projects, announced in October last year. “The funding decision shows the significance that the state of North Rhine-Westphalia attaches to our project,” says Stephan Muller, commercial energy manager for Ineos in Cologne.
