Bayotech and Carbon Clean to develop modular blue hydrogen
Technology avoids the challenges of hydrogen storage and transport, which is difficult and expensive
US hydrogen production company Bayotech and UK CO₂ capture specialist Carbon Clean are to work together on a demonstration facility to design and operate a carbon-capture plant at a Bayotech site by the end of 2022. The demonstration facility will include a Bayotech steam methane reforming unit and Carbon Clean’s carbon-capture technology. The units are modular and scaleable, and can be installed next to existing industrial capacity which is in need of hydrogen, according to a statement from the firms. Currently, most hydrogen is produced at large, centralised facilities before being delivered to end-users. 2022 – Date by which demonstration plant will be operational The technology
