BP partners with Marubeni for Japanese offshore wind push

The major will establish a local offshore wind development team in Tokyo

BP has formed an alliance with Japanese conglomerate Marubeni to focus on the development of offshore wind projects in Japan. Under the deal, which is subject to merger control approvals, BP will take a 49pc stake in a wind project off the Japanese coast that has already been proposed by Marubeni.
