Hydropower resurgence boosts renewables in US power mix
After years of drought hydropower production rebounded in H1 2016
Electricity generated from renewable energy in the US increased by 13% in the first half of the year, boosted by a resurgence in hydropower production after years of severe drought. Between January and June the US generated 322.98m megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity from renewable energy, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). That’s up from 282.116m MWh generated in the first six months of last year.
