The EU Council intensifies diplomatic efforts on energy pursuant to the EU’s rising global climate ambitions
The EU Council called on the European Commission to develop a new strategy on international energy engagement by the end of the year to advance the bloc's climate and energy diplomacy, in its meeting conclusions on Monday. EU member state Foreign ministers recognised that the EU green deal, unveiled by the Commission in December 2019, will have little direct impact on addressing climate change.
