Few can now deny the effect that climate change is having on our planet, whether it be increasingly extreme weather events or the steady rise of sea levels. With each global election, we see the green agenda play a more vital role, from Joe Biden taking executive action in implementing an irreversible path to a net-zero economy by 2050 in the US, to Boris Johnson’s ten-point plan for a green industrial revolution in the UK—the world’s leaders are taking notice and taking action. At the heart of these policies sits the 2015 Paris Agreement, originally adopted by 196 countries, which agrees a target of carbon-neutrality by 2050.
