The French major expects LNG marine use to reach 10mn t by 2025, its head of marine fuels tells Petroleum Economist
The global market for using LNG as a marine fuel is developing rapidly, with trading becoming more liquid and a move towards shorter contract terms, Jerome Leprince-Ringuet, managing director of Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions, tells Petroleum Economist. The French major is one of the pioneers in LNG bunkering and is looking to build on its position as the second-largest private global LNG player, with a portfolio of around 40mn t/yr and a global market share of 10pc. It has stakes in liquefaction plants in ten countries around the world and sells LNG in markets worldwide.
