CarbonCapture pauses Bison DAC project
Developer cites growing competition for clean power as it puts project in Wyoming on hold
Los Angeles-based developer CarbonCapture has paused its flagship Bison direct air capture (DAC) project in Wyoming because of growing competition for renewable power. The company will instead turn its attention to deploying its DAC technology via a first-of-its-kind project in a different state, CarbonCapture’s CEO, Adrian Corless, said. CarbonCapture attributed its decision to pause Bison to intensifying competition for clean power, which had “acutely” affected the 5mt/yr project, Corless said.
