ExxonMobil to store CO₂ from Linde blue hydrogen complex
The oil major will deposit up to 2.2mn t/yr from the planned $1.8bn facility in Texas
ExxonMobil has agreed to transport and permanently store up to 2.2mn t/yr of CO₂ from industrial gases firm Linde’s blue hydrogen project in Beaumont, Texas. Linde last month agreed hydrogen and nitrogen offtake with fertiliser giant OCI as feedstock for its 1.1mn t/yr ammonia facility. The industrial gases firm plans to build, own and operate an onsite complex including autothermal methane reforming and air separation technology, estimated to cost $1.8bn.
