CCUS sector set for flurry of M&A
More deals expected this year as developers seek capital and large firms look to build up portfolios, says Wood Mackenzie
M&A activity in CCUS will accelerate this year as the sector makes the transition from niche concept to mainstream investment theme. Developers with large shareholdings in projects will increasingly look to sell stakes to raise capital at they move to FID. At the same time, companies that have put CCUS at the heart of their strategies but have yet to build significant development portfolios will be potential buyers of stakes.
