Major natural gas exporter Qatar is working with US technology company GE to cut emissions from its own energy sector operations and boost the country’s credentials as a supplier of ‘clean’ LNG. State-owned QatarEnergy and GE have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing a decarbonisation roadmap that will include the deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS), hydrogen and the potential use of ammonia in GE gas turbines.
