Global CCS project pipeline grows 44pc in a year
Thirty projects are in operation, but deployment needs to accelerate sharply to meet Paris Agreement goals, thinktank says
The global pipeline of carbon capture and storage (CCS) capacity under development has grown by 44pc over the last 12 months, according to Australia-based thinktank the Global CCS Institute (GCCSI). Capacity under development totals 244mn t/yr, with 61 new projects added to the pipeline during the past year, the GCCSI says in its Renewables 2022 Global Status report. The total number of projects under development now stands at 153.
