Equinor lays out transition strategy
Norwegian company says its planned emissions reductions are consistent with a 1.5°C pathway
Norwegian energy firm Equinor has laid out a strategy for its ambition to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, with near- and medium-term decarbonisation and spending targets. The strategy includes halving operational greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 relative to 2015 levels, allocating more than half of annual gross capex to renewables and low-carbon solutions by 2030 and reducing net carbon intensity—including scope three emissions—by 20pc by 2030 and 40pc by 2035. “Our energy transition plan is based on actions.
