BP doubles renewables pipeline
Offshore wind investments in US and bids in Scotland will help to decarbonise firm’s portfolio
BP has doubled its pipeline of renewables development to 21GW since the second quarter of last year, the firm said in its second quarter results. The company has bought a 9GW solar development pipeline in the US and is progressing solar projects in Portugal, Spain, Greece and Australia through its renewable arm Lightsource BP. The firm will also bid for offshore wind leases in Scotland with Germany’s EnBW and in Norway with local players Statkraft and Aker.
