Midstream firm says demand needs to be pooled to justify investment
Ancala Midstream, the operator of the Beryl and Sage pipelines and the Sage terminal in the UK’s Northern North Sea, is looking at the opportunities that power-from-shore might open up for the midstream sector, the firm’s CEO Jim Halliday tells Transition Economist. But he cautions that operators will have to work together to realise this lower-carbon ambition. “The fundamental concern is that each individual operator is looking for something in the order of 30-40MW of power generation.
